BLESSED MARIANNE RELIC PLACED IN HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT CHURCH

Reverend Joseph T. Devine received permission to place a relic of Blessed Marianne at the base of the altar of the St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Hartford, Connecticut, where he is Pastor.  Archbishop Henry J. Mansell granted permission.  A contingent of seven Sisters of St. Francis travelled to Hartford for the presentation ceremony on September 15.  The relic consists of dirt and bone fragments from Blessed Marianne’s grave.

Rev. Devine is a long-time devotee of Blessed Marianne.  He attended her beatification in 2005.  The sisters are grateful for his devotion in spreading the story of Blessed Marianne and encouraging faith in her.

The Blessed Marianne relic is located at the base of the altar.
